About the course
This course has been designed for people working in dementia care. Its aim is to give you some ideas and resources about how you can purposefully use music in your role to support wellbeing, reduce distress, and enhance communication for the people that you care for, with a focus on practical strategies that can be integrated into daily routines.
Although designed primarily for those working with people with dementia, many of these approaches may also be relevant if you care for elderly people without dementia too.
The modules cover how to incorporate music into daily routines and personal care, responding to distress, and supporting people with advanced dementia and at the end of life. The course is designed to build your confidence and give you strategies you can apply straight away in your work.
